The boat “HR 46 Blue Daisy” was sailed from Ibiza to Orust specifically for the boatrefit. The boat was delivered by the brave men of Professional Yacht Delivery (PYD), despite the harsh winter weather. I just cannot imagine how to cross the Bay of Biscay and the North Sea in December, and this even without a working heater! The heaters had never ever been used in this boat ever since she was new in 1999. Neither the people in the Mediterranean, nor the poor PYD crew was able to get it working. Instead, they had to put hot water bottles inside their clothes to survive during the passage. I feel so sorry for them!
To illustrate and to give an example why it is worthwhile to have a boat refitted in Sweden, despite the higher hourly rates I would like to mention that it took the chief engineer of the Refit Team of Adams Boat Care no more than an hour to find two issues with the heaters and repaired them on the spot. No technicians along the way from Ibiza to Orust were able to solve this, despite several trials. The labor hour itself was possibly expensive in Sweden, but the total cost to get them repaired is a fraction compared to fix them elsewhere. It’s just another story to let a professional do the work, who knows these boats and their equipment inside out. Not to mention all other works that have to be done at a refit.

Refitting our yacht Ingrid-Marie at Adams Boat Care was indeed a great experience. The personal and easy way of communication during the whole project together with the high skills of the refit team was a pleasure, and we learnt a lot too. Should we need to refit another yacht we would surely like to do it with Adams Boat Care again.

Hi Carl, Anna and Daniel!
Just passed Marstrand and furled out the sails after having motored so far (the new engine is a dream! Quiet, vibration-free and great installation). I can really feel that everything on the rig has been serviced! Mainsail comes out so smoothly; the backstay tensioner is is pumping so friction free; the winches are running so nicely; all the ropes are coloured clearly, yet without looking too crazy with different colours…. It just works so well and I can really feel the improvement on the rigging.
Thank you Daniel, Carl and Anna for yet another fantastic work! I wasn’t aware how much difference an extensive rig service can make on a cruising boat like mine.
And, of course I can’t wait to test the new fixed cutterstay sail with the very smart controls of the running backstays, so I don’t have to leave the cockpit to set the running backstays or hoist the cutter stay sail - left alone to rig the removable cutter stay.
